Our Local Community
On this page we hope to give a brief overview of our local community.
As a school, we sit at the heart of our community. We have close links with our local church, Kingsnorth Parish Council and Pavilion, Kingsnorth Village Hall and Post Office, Little Stars Nursery and sports groups.
Kingsnorth is a village and civil parish in Kent, located on the southern edge of Ashford.
- About 2 miles from Ashford town centre
- Close to the M20 motorway and major road links
- Good rail access via Ashford (including fast trains to London)
It is often seen as a suburban extension of Ashford, rather than a completely separate village.
Kingsnorth has changed significantly in recent decades:
- Originally a small historic village
- Now a large residential area due to housing growth
- Includes modern estates like Park Farm and Bridgefield
What Kingsnorth can offer
- A family-oriented, residential feel
- Lots of green spaces and playing fields
- Easy access to shops and services in Ashford
Kingsnorth has a surprisingly long history:
Ancient & Medieval
- Evidence of a Roman settlement with roads, buildings, and a shrine
- Mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086)
- Historic church: St Michael and All Angels (14th century)
Later history
- Industrial school established in the 1800s
- Nearby RAF airfield used in World War II
So while modern Kingsnorth feels new, it sits on very old foundations.
Lifestyle Snapshot
- Quiet, family-friendly environment
