Last term, we became familiar with our new routines and expectations. A huge well done on your efforts so far. We have a busy term ahead with a Christmas workshop and a managing worries workshop. We will also be continuing to learn the ukulele, which has been such a pleasure to watch and see children's confidence grow.

Jigsaw this term allows children to talk about judging people by their appearance, first impressions and what influences their thinking on what is normal. They will talk about bullying, including online bullying and what to do if they suspect or know that it is taking place. They will discuss the pressures of being a witness and why some people choose to join in or choose to not tell anyone about what they have seen. The children will talk about their own uniqueness and what is special about themselves. They will talk about first impressions and when their own first impressions of someone have changed.

Some key Year 4 messages:

- A timetable will be on the outside of the classroom to share the learning that will take place throughout the week.

- Termly newsletters will be attached below for you to see the term's learning in more detail and will also be sent out by email.

- PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please make sure you come to school in your kit on these days. This term, it is gymnastics and hockey. Children will need a gum sheild and shin pads to take part in this.

-Don't forget your reading book, reading log and water bottle - all really important things for a successful day at school in your book bag.

-Prioritise practising your times tables, spellings and handwriting - these are core skills for Year 4 children.

-Homework will be set on a Friday and consists of spellings, a focus times table/maths activity linked to the week's learning and a wider curriculum activity.  Spellings will be tested on the following Friday.

-Two brilliant things to look forward to: Our Year 4 residential to Kingswood and our special Year 4 production at Easter.

- Red book bags should be used rather than rucksacks as per our policy.
