Administering Antibiotic Medicines

We are only able to administer medicines that are to be given 4 times a day. Medicine must be handed into the school office in the original box with a pharmacy sticker attached to either the box or the bottle.

A form must be completed by parents, these are available from the office. Medicine can not be administered without this being completed.

Diarrhoea and Sickness

Children that have had diarrhoea and/or sickness must be kept off school for 48 hours after the last bout of diarrhoea or sickness.

Chicken Pox

Please keep children off school until the last spot has crusted over.

Thread Worm

Treat the whole household even if they do not have symptoms and then once treated children can come back to school. Please advise the school.

Head Lice

Please treat and  once treated children can come back to school.

Hand Foot and Mouth

Please keep your child off school while they are feeling unwell. There is no need to wait until the blisters have healed. Please let the school know.

Conjunctivitis

No need to stay off school however school should be informed.

Impetigo

Please keep off school until lesions are crusted & healed.

Slapped Cheek

No need to keep off school, however school should be informed.

Scarlet Fever

At least 24 hours after starting antibiotics.

Whooping Cough

Please keep off school for at least 48 hours after starting antibiotics.

Tonsillitis

No need to keep children off school unless they are really not well, however school should be informed.

Measles

Keep off school for at least 4 days from the onset of the rash.

Mumps

Keep off school for at least 5 days from the onset of swelling.
