Kingsnorth Primary School

KingsnorthChurch of England Primary School

Year 5

Term 2–2025

To support your child, please ensure frequent practice of times tables, spellings using Spelling Shed and reading with your children at least three times a week. Please get them to read aloud to support fluency and expression.

With British weather and school life being subject to change, please ensure appropriate PE kits are always worn. We have two PE sessions a week: Tuesday and then on a Thursday.

You can find support to complete your home learning tasks in our Maths curriculum area, where it shows you the methods we use to teach the different skills we have taught throughout the week. The website, https://www.thenational.academy/teachers/programmes/maths-primary-ks2/units, will also support you to see the learning journey your child is taking and the language being used by the adults.

Jigsaw:

In this Puzzle (unit) the class explore culture and cultural differences. They link this to racism, talking about what it is and how to be aware of their own feelings towards people from different cultures. They revisit the topic of bullying and discuss rumour spreading and name-calling. The children talk about direct and indirect bullying as well as ways to encourage children to not using bullying behaviours. The class talk about happiness regardless of material wealth and respecting other people’s cultures.
