Starting School
Applications for children starting primary school in September 2026 opens on 7 November 2025 and close on 15 January 2026.

If you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (16th April 2026) you have the right to appeal. 

The deadline to let us know whether you accept or refuse the place and provide supporting documents must be completed by 30th April 2026.

When you receive your offer of a place at your primary school:

1. Accept a school place

    To accept a school place, email the school directly admissions@kingsnorth.kent.sch.uk

     You will need to tell us:

• if you accept or refuse the place offered at the school
• your child's full name and date of birth
• your child's pupil ID (shown on your offer email)
• your name
• evidence of your address.

2. Supply proof of your address

      Your address evidence should confirm that you and your child were living at the address on            your application by the deadline date. (15^th January 2026)

      You must provide at least 3 pieces of evidence.

       First piece of evidence includes a copy of:

• Council Tax statement for 2025 to 2026 or 2026 to 2027, or
• a signed tenancy agreement or exchange of contracts with confirmed completion date.

3. Second piece of evidence should include a copy of at least one of the following:

• Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Job Seeker Allowance, Disability Benefit letter or statement
• a driving licence
• a schedule of motor insurance
• a utility bill, such as gas, water, electric or broadband
• a payslip.

4. Third piece of evidence includes proof your child lives with you, which can be a copy of a:

• doctor or hospital letter in their name
• savings account or bank account in their name
• Child Benefit statement.

 This is not a full list of evidence. We or the school may ask for more evidence. We will do this if   the current evidence does not prove you lived at the address on the application.

 Your offer may be withdrawn if you fail to provide:

• sufficient address evidence or
• evidence that does not support your address at the final closing date for applications.

There are 60 places for new entrants in the Foundation Stage this year. Class sizes in Key Stage One [Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2] are not permitted to exceed 30.

Appeals must be submitted before 18th May 2026 for it to be considered by 20th July 2026.   Appeals received after this date will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.  For more information please click here.

Moving Schools
If your child is joining us from a different school in Kent, you will need to submit an In Year Admissions Form.  There is no guarantee that we will have a space available for your child, but we do operate a waiting list.  You should not remove your child from their current school before you have a confirmed offer at another school.
