Spirituality in Collective Worship

At Kingsnorth Church of England Primary School, we believe that Spirituality is found in the everyday moments of kindness, curiosity and courage. That’s why we use The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse and Always Remember Me by Charlie Mackesy as our spiritual compass in our Celebration Collective Worship and weekly newsletters. This beautifully simple story opens up gentle but profound conversations about friendship, compassion, hope and faith — themes that resonate with all ages, regardless of their faith or world views.

We draw on the idea of Windows, Mirrors and Doors to enrich our spiritual learning:

  • Windows that let us see the world through new perspectives — helping us to notice God’s presence in creation and in others.
  • Mirrors that allow us to see ourselves more clearly — encouraging reflection on our values, actions and relationships.
  • Doors that invite us to step into new experiences of faith — inspiring acts of service, courage and kindness in our community.

Through worship, reflection time and our newsletter reflections, this story becomes more than words on a page — it becomes a way for us to explore our own spiritual journeys with openness, heart and humility.

This image invites us to stop and wonder. It can be a window to see the world differently, a mirror to think about our own thoughts and feelings, and a door that encourages us to live with kindness, courage and love.
