Aquila - MAT

At Kingsnorth we are privileged to work in a fantastic MAT and alongside an amazing group of schools and staff.

The name ‘Aquila’ is translated from Latin as ‘eagle’ and reflects the sense of aspiration and hope found in Isaiah 40:31

‘They will soar on wings like eagles...’

Through inclusive and innovative practice, we nurture the Aquila family to provide exceptional learning experiences, enriching the lives of all in our unique communities.

Aquila are committed to ensuring our schools work together, sharing their strengths, to provide a great education for every pupil. We believe learning must be engaging and relevant and develop the whole child. Our schools design their coverage of the curriculum to provide challenging and exciting learning experiences in a caring and nurturing environment which is based on our strong Christian values. Our schools value every individual and celebrate differences through their culture of mutual trust and shared values.

Aquila want to deliver and develop best practice through learning together and engaging with action research with Canterbury Christ Church University. We want our schools to serve their local communities through links with churches, each other and to develop wider networks enabling staff and pupils to flourish. Through developing leadership at all levels we want the pupils in our schools to become happy, successful, well-rounded individuals who develop into lifelong learners.

Kingsnorth CEP converted to an academy (01 November 2015) through the Diocese of Canterbury Multi Academy Trust (Aquila). We took this decision to enable our school to have greater autonomy and have a greater say in how we are run now and in the future. www.aquilatrust.co.uk
